Franses New York Gallery Closed by Water Ingress – Tapestry Exhibition Cancelled: Two Tapestries by Perino Del Vaga and other ‘grotesques’ Tapestries
Unfortunately, following a serious ingress of water at the gallery on the 21st October 2011 this forthcoming exhibition – due to open the following week – had to be cancelled and the New York premises closed. Although no tapestries or works of art were harmed the gallery’s floor, ceiling, decorations, and special lighting system were all seriously damaged. As there had been previous incidents of ingress, with regret it was determined that the premises were no longer a safe place to display and store works of art.
