Screens Dividers

Screens and room dividers attracted textile designers. The largest number were produced from the end of the seventeenth century and into the eighteenth.  Large six- and eight-fold screens were constructed, and were especially useful to prevent draughts.  Also firescreens and pole screens served to protect ladies and their fair complexions from the aggressive heat in open fires.
