Renaissance

The Renaissance impacted all aspects of textile design and production. Classicism influenced every aspect of design, both for church and secular textiles and some of the finest and most exquisite works date from this period. Though major bedhangings table carpets survive few of the items of dress that are recorded in renaissance portraits have survived.
