The cartoon for this tapestry, after De Hondt, was adapted from paintings of Dutch country life by David Teniers II (1610-1690). The scene, outside a country Inn, is one of huntsmen and their hounds at rest under a canopy of leafy trees. Country folk and cattle are glimpsed going about their daily activities.
